The History of The Bald Eagle

It is said the Bald Eagle was used as a national emblem because, at one of the first early battles of the Revolution the strong noise of struggle awoke the sleeping Bald Eagles. They flew their nest and circled over the heads of the men at war, making raucous cries the whole time. "They are shrieking for freedom," the patriots said.
The Eagle, standing for the spirit of Freedom, living atop the valleys, strong and powerful, has become the national emblem of our country. A country that offers freedom of words and thought and opportunity for all.

The Bald Eagle is also the United States seal. It shows a wide spread Bald Eagle faced front, having a shield on its breast with thirteen perpendicular red and white stripes, surrounded by a field of blue with the same amount of stars. In his right talon the Bald Eagle is holding an olive branch, in his left a bundle of thirteen arrows, in his powerful beek inscribed with the motto "E Pluribus Unum" attributed to Thomas Jefferson.
